Carmen Alexander
POET, SINGER, SONGRWRITER, ARTIST, PHOTOGRAPHER, GARDENER
BIO
Carmen Alexander is a poet, gardener, songwriter, photographer, artist, singer, and self-proclaimed hummingbird nerd. She spent her youth in Almena Kansas, a town with a population of less than 500, where she enjoyed riding her horse down Main Street, in the country past cattle pastures, and in plowed up fields. Carmen began writing poetry in the fifth grade, writing about her beloved 4-H show horse, Debo.
After obtaining an associate degree in art, Carmen moved to California where she still resides and continues to write poetry, as well as song lyrics for her band, Carmen & the Renegade Vigilantes. Her poetry touches on life experiences, observations, and emotions, as well as nature, music, the ocean, and gardening. She incorporates themes of introspection, everyday struggles, loss, empowerment, and appreciation for the small things.
